Making Hair Grow Faster - Healthy Scalp and Strong Locks

Foods for faster hair growth

If you are one of those women dreaming of outstanding long tresses, but not of those lucky ladies who manage to grow them, you should know that the secret of faster growing hair is proper care, clean and balanced scalp, healthful diet and lifestyle.

Hair growing speed is genetically set and obviously we cannot change it. Sometimes, due to lack of care, unhealthy diet and lifestyle, we unknowingly slow down our hair’s growth. There is one thing we can do – with the right care to reach the maximum of our hair growing speed.

The main reason for the slowdown is the body's inability to absorb the necessary substances for the growing process and may be caused by a lack of required "materials" and insufficient care that disturb and slow the growth.

For a healthy growth, hair needs minerals, trace elements, vitamins, amino acids, proteins.

As the blood system delivers the building materials to the roots, the way to supply everything needed is eating a variety of quality foods.

Good calcium sources are milk, yogurt, cheese and dark green leafy vegetables. Magnesium is found in rice, wheat and oat bran; squash, pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds; dark chocolate; almonds, cashews, brazil nuts, walnuts; bananas, avocados. Potassium is abundant in potatoes, broccoli, bananas, orange juice, chicken breasts, milk, yogurt. Sulfur rich foods are chicken, pork, eggs; seafood – salmon, tuna, lobster; flax and sunflower seeds; garlic, onion, brussel sprouts, broccoli.

Trace elements:
Chromium – broccoli, grape juice, potatoes, garlic, onions, whole grain foods, chicken, beef.
Iodine – kelp, eggs, milk, potatoes.
Iron – spinach, nettle, beef or chicken liver, apricots, potatoes, broccoli.
Manganese – brown rise, spinach, pineapple, pumpkin seeds, almonds.
Silicon – whole grains, soybeans, beets, leafy green vegetables, pumpkin, carrots, onions, cucumber, apples, oranges, cherries, nuts and seeds.
Zinc – oysters, crab, liver, watermelon and pumpkin seeds, cocoa, peanuts.

Vitamin E – spinach, broccoli, kale; nuts; papaya, kiwi; wheat; olive oil.
Vitamin A / Beta carotene – liver, carrots, dark green vegetables, dried apricots, melon, spirulina.
Vitamin B – liver, beef, oats, brazil nuts, bananas, soybeans, legumes, brown rice, brewer's yeast potatoes.

To strengthen your tresses eat protein rich foods. The soybeans and the spirulina are rich vegetarian sources of protein. Spirulina is very beneficial for skin, hair and nails and is a complete natural multivitamin-mineral supplement.

These are just examples of foods rich in specific nutrients. Do your own research, choose foods you like to eat and include them into your daily menu.

Along with the healthy diet, include in your daily regimen regular exercises. The workouts invigorate the body, increase the metabolism and the blood circulation. Thus, the blood supply to the hair roots improves, contributing to faster hair growth. Inverted yoga poses are particularly good for beautiful and healthy locks.

Regular scalp massages aid in increasing blood circulation and better nutrient absorption, contributing to faster growing hair, too. All you need is some carrier oil and 10 minutes. I do recommend almond oil – it is called the most powerful hair growth stimulator.

Maintain your scalp clean from product and sebum build up, dirt and dandruff that could disturb the normal hair growth.

Many women, desiring a long mane, avoid regular hair trims. This is wrong because removing split ends allows your hair to concentrate its strength in the growth; and of course, the locks look better.

Take good care of your hair. Avoid unnecessary chemical procedures like coloring and perming; do not overdo hairstyling; use natural and organic hair products, sulfate free shampoos and homemade hair treatments.

Remember, if you want beautiful long tresses, you should maintain your general health status in excellent condition. All the organs and systems in our bodies are interconnected. Avoid stressful situations as they negatively affect the entire body, eat healthy, drink a lot of water, exercise regularly, take supplements if needed. Your hair will grow faster, healthier and more beautiful than ever.
